Butter is a 4 piece high-energy rock band that people love to dance to. Based out of Virginia Beach, the name Butter has become synonymous with music at the beach over the past nine years. Focusing on their original material, as well as serving up a moderate dose of hand-picked covers, Butter now headlines many of the festivals they used to open for major acts at. ECSC, the Neptune Festival, the JT Walk, Norfolk Sertoma (just to name a few) all saw the group fit and ready for headlining status this year. That, combined with the many opening slots the band still performs for majors, added up to tens of thousands of people the band performed in front of in 2010. Some label them an original band that performs covers while some call them a cover band that plays originals. Either way, Butter just strives to be the best band they can be no matter what they’re playing. One of their biggest honors was being named Hampton Roads Best Band by readers popular vote. No labels, sub-labels, or genres…..just “Best Band”.

Butter gathered considerable momentum and press as an original act for their first full length all-original cd titled “Dv8″ and the subsequent video of the same name. The song “Make it Happen” was chosen for Heineken’s “Ultimate Playlist”. The group also continues to perform their favorite cover material to packed dance floors and have an uncanny knack for reading the crowd and keeping the party going. In keeping with their cover/ original repertoire, the group is set to release a hybrid cd containing both cover and original songs this April, aptly titled “Between the Covers”.
